We create conditions that make Stockholm a global centre for societal innovations improving quality of life.
More about OpenLab
We are more than happy to announce the launch of our platform for collaborative, societal innovation, Utveckla Din Stad(swedish for Develop Your City). The purpose is to collect societal challanges from citizens, companies and organizations, allow creative minds contribute with solutions (or iterations of solutions) and finally make the solution available to anyone.

Since February Openlab has been establishing a whole new work scene in Stockholm. We’ve created an environment which is not just a workplace, but also a network providing opportunities to find new assignments and build your future for a more sustainable society.
In addition to an open coworking space designed for collaboration and creativity, our members have access to our makerspace situated on the ground floor. All setup for 3D printing, prototyping and hands-on workshops.
It's time to welcome the new students of Openlab’s master’s course Challenges for Emerging Cities! During this semester, some 30 students from four universities and from a broad range of disciplines will work in teams to create innovative solutions for complex societal challenges. Real challenges experienced and formulated by the Openlab partners.
Scrum and design thinking will be methods guiding their journey, as will the four course coaches ready to support and challenge the teams.
Let’s set our brains to a creative learning mindset and let’s kick this off!
Join "Open Stockholm Hack" to create solutions for a cohesive and democratically sustainable Stockholm! As a participant you will be part of an intense Design Thinking-inspired process, deep-dive into the city's open data and use the data to solve societal challenges.
The hackathon is a collaboration between Openlab and the City of Stockholm, in connection to the Open Stockholm Award Competition where the finalists of the competition will be able to share a price of 100.000 SEK. The winners will be announced on a event at City Hall on January 18th 2017.
Clear your calendar – and take a "Design Thinking Intro" course at Openlab this autumn! No matter if you work as a project leader, teacher, designer, researcher, administrator or any other profession, Design Thinking will affect how you address your daily work. It is a toolkit of exercises as much as a mind-set that makes you reframe your challenges and create understanding for your target groups.
