ABSTRACT

This report covers the work done by the team Maji Mazuri for the project “Stockholm Water Tap”. The reports details the challenge given on the water quality from the City of Stockholm and Ericsson, and the development of the ideas through different stages of the Design Thinking Process – Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test – towards the final concept. The report is made in a chronological order describing what we did, why we did it, what we learned and how we implemented our learnings into the final concept.

Within the Digital Demo Stockholm project, the City of Stockholm and Ericsson work together to measure and ensure the quality of water in Stockholm. Our drinking water comes from Mälaren and the increasing population of Stockholm and urbanization have put a lot of pressure on the limited source of water we have. The City of Stockholm needs the help from the citizens to protect the water.

The goal of the project is to create awareness about the source and quality of Stockholm’s water, educate on how citizens affect the water with their daily activities and then activate citizens to protect and conserve the water.
