This spring’s challenges to the Openlab students
Four current challenges from The City of Stockholm Region Stockholm have been presented to students in Openlab’s master’s course Innovations for Societal Challenges. The students in the course represent four different universities (KTH, Stockholm University, Karolinska Institutet, and Södertörn University) and have diverse backgrounds and fields of study.
Divided into interdisciplinary teams, the students will spend the coming months exploring needs and developing innovative solutions for these societal challenges. They will be guided by course coaches from each institution, and learn to apply the design thinking methodology and mindset to these real-world challenges.
In our experience, working on real challenges is something that greatly motivates the students, and their engagement, insights, and proposals bring energy and inspiration to the organizations they support.
