Norrbor Project
Original challenge: How might the Norra Innerstaden City District administration offer public services and design activities in a way that is relevant, meaningful, and beneficial for the people of Stockholm?
Challenge from: Norra Innerstaden District Office (Norra Innerstadens stadsdelsförvaltning)
Redefined challenge: How could we bring the District Office closer to Norra Innerstaden’s residents and visitors by designing spaces that cultivate a sense of connection and community?
Solution: Stadscykel (Information Bicycle)
Concept: Stadscykel (Information Bicycle): This prototype was designed to connect with various individuals, address their specific needs, and simplify access to District Office services. It gained significant engagement from unexpected users, including elderly people and children, during testing.

Report abstract
The Norra Innerstaden District Office (Norra Innerstadens stadsdelsförvaltning) in Stockholm faces the challenge of engaging a diverse population with varying levels of need and awareness of public services. Despite offering a wide range of social support, many residents remain disconnected from the services provided. Using Design Thinking and the Double Diamond process, our team explored how to make these services more visible, accessible, and community-centered. Through fieldwork, interviews, digital research, meetings with challenge givers, persona development, survey, and prototyping, we identified key insights that led us to a redefined Point of View. This new perspective focuses on building relationships and fostering community through innovative, human-centered solutions. Among the five proposed solutions (Stadscykel – Information Bicycle, NorrArt – public art installations, Buddy System – peer support, Let’s Play – inclusive playground, and NorraConnect – QR-based information access), we selected Stadscykel – the Information Bicycle, as the based for the final solution called Rollin’ Office.
