Step-Up! Planning Tool
Project Report Abstract
A group of eight students from different universities and academic backgrounds came together to tackle the challenge of improving patient care for cardiac and respiratory patients at the rehabilitation ward of Södertälje Hospital.
Using the Design Thinking process and Agile project management, the team developed seven concepts for their challenge-givers after approximately two months. After receiving feedback, the team chose one concept that they
believed would be game-changing; Step-Up!, the visual planning tool, to refine and improve for the final project delivery.
While working on the final solution, the team realized that they could not provide a ‘one-size- fits-all’ solution to both patient categories. Thus, the team focused on the cardiac patients as they tend to have an end date to their rehabilitation, which helped limit the scope of the project.
